Lucas J Rougeux

Lucas J Rougeux (they/she/he) is a multidisciplinary  Queer artist and curator based in Washington DC. She graduated from Alfred University in 2017 and has worked as a museum professional since 2018. They have exhibited their work throughout the DC area including solo exhibitions at Rhizome DC in 2022 and Montgomery County Community College in 2024. She has been the artist in residence at the Torpedo Factory Art Center and the Montgomery County Community College and a member of the 2024 Sparkplug Collective through DC Art Center. As a curator, she has organized  Queer exhibitions including the trans/gender  Queer exclusive exhibition "Existence as Protest" as well as co-curated the Queer Art Salon in 2024. Their work bears witness to the urgency of living under the rise of American Fascism, responding to global catastrophe, and seeking connective action through Queer community.
