Shyama Kuver also known as Heart Over Crown is a  Queer interdisciplinary artist and child of immigrants who is inspired by her family’s legacy of indenture on the Fiji Islands and growing up in the inner city. Shyama lives in Washington, DC, where she works to make education attainable for all. Her artistic practice is inspired by her love of the diaspora, mystery, and the many lessons being out in nature can teach us. She believes that everyone everywhere deserves dignity.
