Idris Aguero uses their practices as an artist and designer to connect communities and build belonging. In all their roles, whether as a designer for social impact projects, Board Member for local organization Arts on the Block, or workshop facilitator, they are interested in celebrating the creative spirit of everyone they meet. In defiance of a culture that expects their communities to suffer, their artwork centers the joy and freedom of being trans. They are learning to be playful in their process by returning to mediums and themes from their childhood, like comics, colored pencils, dreams, and fantasy.
