Danyela June Brown

Danyela June Brown is a voguing girl, set-maker and curator from South Arlington, VA interested in autonomy, replicability, and trans use-value. She has presented work at Performance Space New York, the Hirschhorn Sculpture Garden, Dance Place, Touchstone Gallery, Rhizome DC, and Dance Institute of Washington. She has danced for Aleta Hayes, Olaiya Olayemi, Rashad Pridgen, Kiyan Williams, the Houses of Mizrahi (2017-2019), and the Kiki Houses of Old Navy (2018-2020) and Supreme (2023-Present). She has completed EMERGENYC (2020), the Learning and Public Engagement Fellowship at Dia Art Foundation (2019-2021), and the Peer Case Management Institute at Howard School of Social Work (2024). She holds a BA in African American Studies from Stanford and is an MFA Candidate in Sculpture at Bard College. Danyela works as a Permanent Supportive Housing Intake Specialist for DC DHS, she served as Artistic Director of DMV Kiki Nights (2023-2025), and curated Performance for the Queer Art Salon in 2024 and 2025.
